RADIOLOGICAL CONTROL & SAFETY TECHNICIAN
Summary: US Ecology Washington, Inc. (USEW) is seeking a Radiological Control & Safety Technician. This position is a Union position under the United Steelworkers Local 12-369. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. Collects environmental samples, logs environmental data, and performs basic testing procedures on soil, groundwater, and air samples. Prepares samples for shipping, records radiation survey data, and prepares summaries and charts for review. Works with state regulators in waste receipt and environmental sampling. Implements site safety and control programs to include monitoring and protecting personnel from radiation exposure such as respiratory protection. Issue, collect, and process personnel dosimetry devices. Maintain and issue respiratory protection equipment. Perform radiological surveys on waste transport vehicles and packages arriving and leaving the facility. Must be able to obtain a US Department of Energy Unescorted badge.
