Clearance
To visit the Richland disposal facility on the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) reservation you must first obtain prior clearance by contacting US Ecology. Upon proper clearance, a badge will be requested which can be picked up at the DOE Central Badging Office (see map). After obtaining your badge, it is approximately 20 miles further out to the Richland facility.

Directions to Richland site
Follow SR-240, Bypass Hwy North around Richland until you reach the traffic light where SR-240 turns left. Do not follow SR-240, instead continue straight through the signal. The Bypass Hwy will merge with Stevens Drive. Follow Stevens Drive for about 4 miles. Turn right on Cypress St. to pick up your badge. The Central Badging Office is at 3790 Cypress St. After obtaining your badge, turn right to get back on Stevens Drive which becomes Route 4. Follow Route 4 to the Wye Barricade Guard station where they will check for proper identification and badge. The US Ecology Richland disposal facility is approximately 9 miles further on the left.
