American Ecology is committed to excellence in safety and has established a cooperative relationship involving management, labor, and state and federal safety professionals. All operating sites participate in OSHA SHARP and VPP Programs.
The Grand View, ID location participated in the Safety Health Achievement and Recognition Program (SHARP) in 2004 and in December 2006 was awarded OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR status. The Robstown, TX location was named a VPP STAR site in June 2006. The Richland, WA location was named a VPP STAR site in September 2007. The Beatty, NV location was named a Nevada SHARP site
in June 2007.

Primary responsibility for environmental compliance resides with the CEO and with each General Manager. Each operating facility employs a qualified Environmental Manager. The corporate Environmental Affairs Director provides oversight and support.
