US Ecology Partners with
RILA’s Center for Retail Compliance
August 2018 -- US Ecology is proud to announce its partnership with the Center for Retail Compliance (CRC), an initiative of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA). With over 65 years of experience, US Ecology is a leading North American provider of environmental services and is equipped to provide complex waste management solutions and expertise. US Ecology provides collection, transportation, treatment, disposal and recycling of hazardous waste to national and regional supermarkets, distribution and fulfillment centers, pharmacies, home-improvement stores, discount chain stores, and other industry segments.
The Center for Retail Compliance was founded in 2014 to help retailers of all types and sizes comply with an increasingly complex regulatory framework. The CRC provides retail-specific resources and tools to make compliance easier and programs more effective, and has built an expansive community of retail environmental compliance professionals.
As part of the partnership, US Ecology’s Vince Scheerer, Vice President of Retail Services, and Brian Lindman, Environmental Regulatory Director, will participate in a session focusing on hazardous waste and environmental compliance during the 2018 California Environmental Compliance Workshop on Sept 25, 2018 in Irvine, CA.
“Attendees will learn about upcoming regulatory changes straight from Washington D.C. and the California Environmental Protection Agency that will affect California-based retailers more harshly and result in severe fines if compliance isn’t achieved,” said US Ecology’s Lindman, a member of the Environmental Technology Council. The workshop is free and open to all retailers. “It was a natural fit to select US Ecology as our workshop partner. Given their industry experience and knowledge in areas like hazardous waste and environmental compliance, we’re confident the CRC membership will find value in their insights and guidance,” said Tiffin Shewmake, Executive Director of the Center for Retail Compliance.
In addition to participating in the California environmental compliance workshop, US Ecology will host a webinar on a related topic for CRC members later this year.
US Ecology looks forward to providing knowledge and solutions to help today’s retailers achieve compliance more efficiently.
