US Ecology has partnered with End of Life Vehicle Solutions Corporation (ELVS) to facilitate dismantlers'/recyclers' removal of automotive mercury switches prior to a vehicle being scrapped.  This program supports the auto industry's belief that the most important step that can be taken to reduce the amount of mercury entering the environment from motor vehicles is to have the mercury switches removed by the recycling/dismantling industry at the vehicle's end-of-life.

Important Program Note – ELVS Replacement buckets are not provided automatically!

To receive a replacement bucket, you should call (800) 495-6059 or e-mail elvsbuckets@usecology.com 10 days before you are ready to ship your full bucket and leave your request for a replacement bucket. Provide your company name, shipping address and bucket size (small or large). A replacement bucket will be shipped to you via UPS.

About The Program:

ELVS manages the nationwide National Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program, to collect, transport, retort, recycle or dispose of elemental mercury from automotive switches.  ELVS also provide educational outreach and promote vehicle recycling and proper management of substances of concern.  End of Life Vehicle Solutions - www.elvsolutions.org

To all NVMSRP Mercury Switch Collection Participants:

The NVMSRP voluntary incentive fund is now depleted.  Incentive payments will continue in states where they are required by law (AR, IL, IA, MA, ME, NJ, RI, UT, MD) or have a state funded program (IN,NC, SC,WA) but have ceased in voluntary states.  All other aspects of the switch collection program will continue. You are strongly encouraged to continue removing switches and the program will continue to accept these switches at no cost to participants. Thank you in advance for your commitment to the environment.
