Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Feeler is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of US Ecology, Inc. Jeff brings over 20 years of business experience serving in various executive level positions including US Ecology's Chief Financial Officer from 2007 to 2012. Prior to joining the Company, Jeff worked with MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc., Albertson's, Inc., Hewlett-Packard and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant and has a BBA of Finance and BBA of Accounting from Boise State University. Jeff joined the Board of Directors in 2013 and was appointed Chairman of the Board in 2015.
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Steve Welling is Executive Vice President responsible for all Sales & Marketing activities in the US and Canada. He directs the company’s highly skilled North American sales force and is responsible for executing growth strategies in our core Environmental Services and Field & Industrial Services business segments. Steve maintains over 25 years’ experience in the environmental and industrial services marketplace and has worked extensively on many successful new market development projects at multiple companies. He established US Ecology’s national sales organization in 2001 and has since been actively involved in developing and leading various corporate growth initiatives. He previously held National Accounts, Sales Management and Business Development positions at Envirosource, Inc. a steel mill services and environmental company. Steve also served as Vice President of Sales for Matlack, Inc., a national bulk logistics company.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Simon Bell is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for all of the Company's operating assets and services. Simon joined the Company in 2001 as Environmental Manager at its Grand View, Idaho facility and later served as the Idaho facility's General Manager prior to being appointed Vice President of Hazardous Waste Operations in December 2005, Vice President of Operations in 2006 and Executive Vice President of Operations in 2014. Before joining the company, Simon served as Vice President and General Manager of a hazardous waste disposal facility in Colorado. Simon also served in a variety of technical and managerial roles in the mining industry in Alaska, Idaho, Nevada and South Dakota. He holds a B.S. in Geology from Colorado State University.
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Eric Gerratt is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer and is responsible for the Company’s finance, treasury, accounting and reporting functions. Eric joined US Ecology in August of 2007 and has over 15 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting. Previously he served as Vice President of Accounting for SUPERVALU, Inc. Prior to SUPERVALU, he held various director level accounting and finance positions at Albertsons, Inc., after 6 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he provided audit, accounting and business advisory services. Eric is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Idaho.
Executive Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Safety
Andrew (Andy) Marshall is the Executive Vice President of Regulatory Compliance & Safety. Andy is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years’ experience assisting companies comply with environmental regulations. Prior to joining US Ecology, he was an associate at Kleinfelder, a national environmental consulting firm, providing engineering consulting services and leading the company's environmental regulatory compliance practice. Andy worked for Boise Cascade Corporation for 13 years in various capacities including corporate environmental manager and as a project manager for strategic initiatives. Andy earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Seattle University, his Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Oregon State University, and MBA from Northwest Nazarene University.
Board of Directors
Richard Burke joined the Board of Directors in 2020. Mr. Burke serves as Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Disposal. Prior to serving as CEO, he served as President of the company and was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, purchasing, risk management, human resources and strategic planning. He joined Advanced Disposal following the acquisition of Veolia Environmental Services Solid Waste in November 2012, where he was President and CEO of Veolia Environmental Services North America since 2007.
Mr. Burke began his employment with Veolia in 1999 as Area Manager for the Southeast Wisconsin area and served as Regional Vice President for the Eastern and Southern markets until he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, Mr. Burke was responsible for leading Veolia Environmental Services in the U.S. and Canada, which included annual revenue of $2 billion, more than 200 locations and a team of 10,000 employees. Prior to joining Veolia, he spent 12 years with Waste Management in a variety of leadership positions. He currently serves on the Board of the Environmental Research and Education Foundation, K9s for Warriors, and in July 2019 was appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Florida Transportation Commission. Mr. Burke holds a bachelor’s degree from Randolph Macon College.
Katina Dorton joined the Board of Directors in 2014. Ms. Dorton currently serves on the board and as chair of the audit committee of Fulcrum Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: FULC) (2020). She most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Repare Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on new therapies for cancer (2019-2020). She was previously Chief Financial Officer of AVROBIO (NASDAQ: AVRO), a publicly traded biotechnology company (2017-2018). Ms. Dorton served as Chief Financial Officer of Immatics GmbH, also a biotechnology company (2015-2017). Previously, Ms. Dorton spent more than 15 years as an investment banker where she advised companies and their boards on capital markets, fund raising, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. She was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and an attorney in private practice at Sullivan & Cromwell. Ms. Dorton is on the Board of the National Association of Corporate Directors (“NACD”) Research Triangle Chapter where she has served since 2014. She is an NACD Corporate Governance Fellow. Ms. Dorton holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, an MBA from George Washington University, and a BA from Duke University.
Glenn A. Eisenberg
Glenn A. Eisenberg joined the Board of Directors in 2018. He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (NYSE: LH) (2014), a leading global life sciences company. Glenn brings more than thirty (30) years of financial and leadership experience with sizeable and diversified publicly traded companies. He previously served as Executive Vice President (Finance and Administration) at The Timken Company (2002-2014) and held senior executive and leadership positions at United Dominion Industries and The Citizens and Southern Corporation. In addition to these executive leadership positions, Glenn served on the boards of two public companies; Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (2002-2015) and Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (2005-2015). Glenn holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Georgia State University and a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from Tulane University.
Jeffrey R. Feeler joined the Board of Directors in 2013, was appointed Chairman of the Board in 2015 and is the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. He joined the Company in 2006 as Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Treasurer and Controller. He was promoted in 2007 to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; positions he held until his promotion to senior executive in October 2012. Prior to 2006, Jeff held financial and accounting management positions with MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc. (a distribution company), from 2003 to 2005 with Albertson’s, Inc. (a grocery retailer) and from 2002 to 2003 with Hewlett-Packard Company. From 1993 to 2002, he held various accounting and auditing positions, including the position of Sr. Manager, for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA of Accounting and a BBA of Finance from Boise State University.
Daniel Fox joined the Board of Directors in 2010. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Faculty Associate in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University where he develops and teaches undergraduate accounting courses (2016). Daniel was a full-time lecturer in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University from 2007 through May 2016 where he developed and taught graduate and upper division undergraduate accounting and finance courses. Daniel held various management and leadership positions over a twenty-eight (28) year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, retiring as a senior partner and the firm’s Global Capital Markets Leader in Switzerland. During his public accounting career, Daniel provided a wide range of services to a diverse mix of clients ranging in size from small privately held start-up companies to mature global public companies. He has been a frequent speaker on broad-ranging topics such as impacts of new or proposed auditing, accounting, reporting, regulatory and international financial reporting matters. Daniel also served on a committee of the Idaho State Board of Accountancy.
Ronald C. Keating
Ronald (Ron) C. Keating joined the Board of Directors in 2017. He brings more than twenty five (25) years of operations and leadership experience with companies providing solutions to municipal, industrial and infrastructure customers. Ron is currently the President, Chief Executive Officer and a director at Evoqua Water Technologies LLC, a global provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions and services (2014). He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Contech Engineered Solutions (2008-2014), a provider of site solutions for contractors, owners, engineers and architects and held senior leadership positions at Kennametal Inc. and Ingersoll-Rand Inc. Ron holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M.
Renae Conley joined the Board of Directors in 2020. She has over 30 years of business experience in the energy industry, including significant leadership positions in finance, operations and human resources. Since 2014, Ms. Conley serves as CEO of ER Solutions, LLC, an energy consulting firm. Ms. Conley previously served from 2010-2013 as EVP, Human Resources and Administration, and Chief Diversity Officer of Entergy Corporation. She also previously served as Chairman, President and CEO of Entergy Louisiana and Gulf States Louisiana. Ms. Conley played a key role leading utility restoration efforts in Louisiana in the wake of a number of major hurricanes, including Katrina. Prior to joining Entergy, Ms. Conley worked for eighteen years for PSI Energy/Cinergy Corporation, where she held a variety of positions including President of Cincinnati Gas and Electric.
Ms. Conley serves as a Director of Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., a Director of PNM Resources, Inc., and serves on the board of The Indiana Toll Road Concession LLC. Ms. Conley currently serves on the Ball State University Board of Trustees and is chair of the board, and serves on the Ball State University Foundation. Ms. Conley has a B.S. degree in accounting and an M.B.A., both from Ball State University.
John T. Sahlberg
John T. Sahlberg joined the Board of Directors in 2015. He is currently Senior Vice President of Human Resources General Counsel for Boise Cascade Company. Boise Cascade Company is one of the largest producers of plywood and engineered wood products in North America and a leading U.S. wholesale distributor of wood products. He was an integral part of the team that returned Boise Cascade Company to public ownership through its public offering in 2013. During his thirty-five (35) years with Boise Cascade Company and its predecessors, he has held numerous legal and human resource positions. From 2000 to the present, John has served as a director and chairman (2014) of Vigilant, a non-profit employer association. He also serves as Management Trustee of Bledsoe Health Care Trust (2000) and served as Management Trustee of TOC/Carpenters Pension Trust from 2000-2009. John is a member of the Idaho State Bar and holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University.
Melanie Steiner joined the Board of Directors in 2019. She is a global retail and fashion executive with over 25 years of experience in risk, strategy and law. Melanie brings a broad cross-functional background, with expertise in the key disruptive forces facing industry including digital, cybersecurity and Environmental Social Governance (ESG). She currently serves as the Chief Risk Officer of PVH Corp. (NYSE: PVH), a Fortune 500 global apparel company with ownership of lifestyle brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger among others. In this role, she oversees a diverse set of global functions including Internal Audit, Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Enterprise Risk Management, Crisis Management, Insurance, and Procurement, while also acting as a key advisor to the Senior Management Team on important areas of risk and strategy. Previously, Melanie held a leadership position with EY, and began her career in commercial and environmental law and policy. She was a litigator as well as an international policy advisor, managing delegations and lobbying strategies relating to various UN-level, Heads of State and Ministerial events and treaty processes. Melanie holds an LLM Master of Laws from the University of London (UK) and an LLB (J.D.) Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto.
Mack L. Hogans
Mack L. Hogans joined the Board of Directors in 2021. Mr. Hogans retired as Senior Vice President after 25 years with Weyerhaeuser Company. At Weyerhaeuser he was responsible for Corporate Communications; Environment, Health and Safety; Government Affairs; Law; E-Business; and Supply Chain Management and was chair of the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation. He currently consults with CEO’s and organizations in areas that include strategy; governance; public policy; diversity, equity, and inclusion; natural resources and environmental policy; and philanthropy.
He has been Affiliate Professor, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, and Guest Lecturer at the Foster School of Business, University of Washington. He is Lead Independent Director and Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee of Boise Cascade Company and is on the board of Red Dot Corporation and the American Forest Foundation. He is past board member of US Bank Washington: past Chair of the board of Cambia Health Solutions, and past board member of The Washington Business Roundtable; Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club; Regence Blue Shield; Pacific Lutheran University; University of Puget Sound, and Past Board Chair of The US Endowment for Forestry and Communities. He served on the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship board for 11 years, at the request of the Governor. Mr. Hogans has received many recognitions for his leadership, including, “2020 NACD Directorship 100™” honoree, the 2020 “Puget Sound Business Journal Director of The Year” award, and Modern Healthcare “Excellence in Healthcare Governance” award. Mr. Hogans attended Tuskegee University, holds a Bachelor of Science in forestry and natural resources from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Science in forest resources from the University of Washington. He is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program, Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
