US Ecology Michigan’s waste treatment plant Michigan Disposal, Inc. (MDI) has received a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)  PCB commercial storage approval from the US EPA. This allows MDI to accept TSCA regulated waste (PCBs > 50 ppm) for storage and treat mixed RCRA hazardous and TSCA waste that contains PCBs at concentrations that meet applicable land disposal restrictions, including RCRA contaminated soil and debris containing PCBs. This approval enables US Ecology to better support environmental clean-up projects.

The facility, located in Belleville, MI, is a Part B TSDF with one of the largest treatment capacities, by volume, in the United States.  The plant treats industrial and remediation project waste to meet land disposal requirements. MDI’s treatment services include stabilization, oxidation, deactivation, neutralization, solidification and microencapsulation of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. The US Ecology Michigan facility is designed and engineered to the highest standards set forth by the US EPA and the Michigan DEQ for hazardous waste treatment and disposal facilities.
