This December, US Ecology will mark over two years of operations at a remediation site for a confidential client. The site is a large scale, privately funded, environmental clean-up of a former chemical facility. The overall project consists of a dynamic range of activities including excavation, dredging, landfill capping, water treatment, soil load out, rail operations, and site restoration. US Ecology works closely with our client, CDM Constructors, as well as numerous other contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, disposal facilities, and several regional and national Railroads.

US Ecology’s responsibilities include the oversight and management of all loading, transportation, and disposal activities for all non-hazardous and hazardous waste being generated at site. The successful shipment of over 2,000 railcars from the site was a significant contribution to US Ecology receiving the CSX Chemical Safety Award for 2016. The site was also subject to an unannounced Federal Railroad Administration audit. The FRA inspected training records, shipping papers, operating procedures, and safety programs. US Ecology successfully passed the audit with a finding of no problems or deficiencies.

Our safe and successful management of this type of large scale cleanup project demonstrates our industry leading capabilities. With unmatched hazardous waste landfill capacity, large volume transportation capabilities, and site remediation services, we can fully support all of our customers' environmental needs. Enabling them to meet regulatory milestones and reduce liability while protecting the environment.
